Genera 8.5 Zmacs keybindings

This reference describes every configured direct entry in the inspected standard Zwei, Zmacs, and Control-X source tables; every initialized base minibuffer, pathname, FQUERY, extended-search, and macro-mover context; and the complete local deltas for the inspected general and task modes. It also defines the lookup, argument, mode-order, Help, pointer/presentation, and known loaded-system overlay layers needed to interpret those cells. It contains factual binding names and original summaries, not proprietary source or copied manual text. All machine-derived Genera output remains ignored.

See Zmacs in Symbolics Genera for architecture, feature coverage, runtime observations, artifact identities, and rights boundaries. See the named-command audit for the counts, functional categories, and installation semantics of the 277 standard, Zmacs, and explicit CP source candidates; their exact ordered arrays remain ignored local evidence.

Scope and notation

  • C-, M-, S-, and H- mean Control, Meta, Super, and Hyper; Sh- means Shift where case is significant.
  • Named keys such as Cut, Copy, Paste, Undo, Redo, Scroll, Find, Complete, Help, and Abort are Genera characters, not guessed PC keys.
  • A range is stated once and covers every cell generated by the source form. In SET-COMTAB, the second number is a count, not an endpoint; these bare source numerals are read in Base 8. The three standard ranges (0 200), (301 310), and (312 317) therefore expand to octal 000 through 177, 301 through 610, and 312 through 630. Later specifications win where ranges or individual cells overlap.
  • Commented-out entries are not bindings. Explicitly undefined local entries are listed because they shadow inheritance.
  • The source configures 212 literal standard entries plus C-X, 40 standard prefix entries, 13 Zmacs direct entries plus C-X and a mouse menu, and 22 Zmacs-prefix entries. Counts are constructor entries, not runtime-active keys: ranges, inheritance, aliases, modes, patches, optional systems, and user files alter the effective environment.
  • The subordinate contexts add 50 literal configured cells: 21 minibuffer, pathname, and FQUERY cells; 28 extended-search cells; and one synthetic keyboard-macro-mover event. Five are explicit undefined shadows.
  • “Complete” below means the configured fixed source base within this boundary. It does not mean that every optional product, patch, site/user form, or installed-world omission has already been dumped. The 64 ZWEI translators and two ZWEI actions are enumerated below. The incorporated Dynamic Windows catalog closes its selected-source three-module denominator at 54 definitions/66 records and its ordinary-Zmacs inherited subset at 47/59; live residency, redefinitions, applicability, equal-score order, gesture remaps, and additional handlers remain runtime layers.

Generated aliases and finite table domains

A full Genera comtab has a base keyboard array of octal 300 codes (192 decimal) by 16 modifier states and a pointer array of three buttons by 32 modifier states. Characters outside that base code array are stored in explicit other-character-set buckets; the Standard range forms named below create such entries where necessary. A sparse comtab stores only explicit character/value pairs.

Constructing a table through SET-COMTAB's NIL-or-name creation path installs 26 unmodified lowercase aliases, a through z to their uppercase forms, before later specifications overwrite cells. Raw comtab allocation alone does not install them, and this path does not generate modified-letter aliases. The Standard Control-X table then applies Control indirection, filling only still-NIL base-array cells:

  1. ordinary Return, Linefeed, Tab, Backspace, and Form alias the corresponding Control ASCII character;
  2. every Meta-only and Control-Meta cell across all 192 base codes aliases the same code with Meta removed; and
  3. every Control-only cell outside ASCII @ through _ aliases the same unmodified code.

Aliases store a modifier state and destination character. Lookup restarts at the original top comtab, so the ordered literal rows, these exact generation rules, the other-character-set entries, and the parent chain define every configured inherited leaf without flattening thousands of redundant rows.

The two generated families cover all 15 nonempty combinations of Control, Meta, Super, and Hyper. Unmodified digits remain ordinary insertion. Before each real command, argument state is value 1, presence NIL, and digit count zero. Argument commands return the internal :ARGUMENT result and continue reading:

  • a modified minus sets the value to negative absolute value and presence to sign state; it never toggles;
  • C-U multiplies by four and sets Control-U state;
  • the first modified digit replaces a preceding Control-U/sign magnitude while preserving negativity, then sets digit state; and
  • later digits append in base ten.

A following C-X consumes the next key in its child table and includes the argument in its prompt. C-X C-U is Uppercase Region, not another universal argument.

C-Sh-D; C-Sh-V; C-Sh-F Long Documentation; Describe Variable At Point; Quick Show Flavor Init Keywords And Documentation

Four effective keys occur twice among the 212 constructor specifications: C-< Mark Beginning, C-> Mark End, C-Sh-A Quick Arglist, and C-Sh-F Quick Show Flavor Init Keywords And Documentation. The last appears under two equivalent source spellings. The repetitions remain in the constructor count; no unique-active-cell count is inferred from subtraction because ranges and later overwrites make that arithmetic misleading.

Styles, text justification, and static mouse leaves

Binding(s) Command
C-J; M-J; C-M-J Change Style Char; Change Style Word; Change Typein Style

C-X Enter the standard Control-X table; Zmacs replaces this with its child prefix.

Single-click left/middle static entries are commented out. Live Dynamic Windows presentations still contribute contextual mouse operations; those are not fabricated as standard table leaves.

Unlisted prefix cells inherit the standard Control-X table.

Mini-input and recursive contexts

The old completing-reader table is enclosed in a source block comment. The active local mini-input table instead defines:

Binding(s) Mini-input value
C-Q; C-G; Abort Quoted Insert; Mini Buffer Beep; Recursive Edit Abort
M-Y; C-M-Y Mini Buffer Or Yank Pop; Yank In Context
M-Sh-Y; C-M-Sh-Y Mini Buffer Or Yank Pop Matching; Yank Matching In Context

Complete, S-Complete, C-?, C-/, End, C-Return Dispatch as a mini-input special character
M-; Explicitly undefined
Help Mini Input Editor Help
Return Mini-input special character or insert Return, depending on context

Mini-input special-character gateway

The six “special character” cells above are gateways, not terminal command names. Return uses the same gateway but inserts a newline when the active context does not classify it as special. Help first permits a context-specific classification and otherwise enters the default mini-input Help path.

For an input object x, resolve the first applicable branch:

  1. a list whose first element is not a keyword is already an out-of-band editor object and passes through unchanged;
  2. an atomic non-character or a list beginning with :MENU is ignored;
  3. an accepted :BLIP-CHARACTER becomes a record of that class;
  4. otherwise an accepted :ACTIVATION becomes an activation record;
  5. otherwise an accepted :COMMAND becomes a command record;
  6. otherwise, while Dynamic Windows ACCEPT is active, an ACCEPT-blip character is returned for insertion and rescan; and
  7. otherwise there is no special result.

The generated record contains class, original character, and the explicit numeric argument or NIL. Predicate precedence is therefore blip character, activation, command, then ACCEPT fallback. A strict gateway cell with no result barfs: the command loop aborts that leaf, beeps, requests text redisplay, and keeps the mini-editor active. It does not self-insert. Return is the exception: with no special result it invokes Insert CR, including its numeric repeat and blank-line reuse rules.

A special non-character result is stored out of band and forces rescan. An ACCEPT fallback character is inserted at point, text is marked for redisplay, the slot is cleared, and input is rescanned. Buffered text is delivered before the stored special result.

On ANY-TYI, predicates are reevaluated because dynamic input contexts may have changed during rescan. A still-special object returns its newly classified record. If it is no longer special, a graphic character or Return is inserted; Help shows default mini-input Help; anything else beeps; editing then resumes. Presentation blips remain out of band. Plain TYI instead returns the stored record's character. UNTYI of the record or character restores the last stored special record.

Generic ACCEPT and completion leaves

An unextended Dynamic Windows ACCEPT context supplies Return and End as its activation characters, excluding any character also configured as an ACCEPT blip. Callers may replace or append activation and blip sets and lower-level predicates.

Fixed cell Unextended generic-ACCEPT result
Complete, S-Complete, C-?, C-/, C-Return no classification; strict leaf barfs
End :ACTIVATION
Return :ACTIVATION; no newline is inserted

Removing Return from activation makes its wrapper insert a newline unless another predicate accepts it. Adding C-Return makes that cell an activation.

COMPLETE-INPUT overrides predicates while consulting the predicates it shadowed. Its activation predicate recognizes Complete, S-Complete and Tab, recognizes C-Return when forced return is enabled, then calls the prior activation predicate. Its command predicate recognizes C-? and C-/, then calls the prior command predicate. Its rescan predicate recognizes C-?, C-/, and Help, then calls the prior rescan predicate.

Cell Built-in COMPLETE-INPUT transition
Complete Request ordinary full completion and normally stay. With complete-activates, exit only after a unique completed result and leave the delimiter for the enclosing parser.
S-Complete Request maximal completion and stay. Move point to a useful failure position when supplied.
C-? Display possibilities for the current token; do not complete or exit.
C-/ Display possibilities according to *WHAT-CONTROL-/-DOES*, whose base value is :APROPOS; do not exit.
End Complete and exit on a unique result or an established left-substring completion; otherwise remain.
C-Return With forced return, or when an enclosing predicate includes it, skip completion, return the typed token and leave the delimiter for the enclosing parser; otherwise barf.
Return Trim configured right-edge characters. With allow-any-input, return the token without completion; otherwise complete/validate and return only a valid unique or left-substring result.

Invalid ordinary completion signals the required-type parse condition when arbitrary input is disallowed; the mini-editor catches it, beeps, may show the C-Return recovery hint, and resumes. With arbitrary input allowed, invalid ordinary completion beeps. Ambiguity also beeps and stays. Maximal completion deliberately avoids those ordinary-mode beep branches when arbitrary input is allowed.

Empty input with a return-requesting delimiter—End, enabled C-Return, Return, or activating Complete—takes the null-input path before completion so enclosing ACCEPT can provide a default. C-?, C-/, nonactivating Complete and S-Complete do not. Numeric prefixes are carried in special records but do not repeat these completion operations; the Return insertion fallback does consume the count.

Compatibility completion enables C-Return only when its IMPOSSIBLE-IS-OK-P option is RETURN. Zmacs buffer-name completion normally enables it through CREATE-P :IF-FORCED, permitting an unmatched name to reach buffer creation. The public wrapper accepts INITIAL-COMPLETE, but this source reset explicitly ignores it; it does not synthesize an initial Complete action. Recursive mini-buffer entry is rejected before reset.

Control-R and Recursive Edit are independent sparse tables; neither inherits the other:

Context Direct local cells Parent
Control-R C-Altmode, End, Abort Exit Control-R; C-Z explicitly undefined Standard Zwei
Recursive Edit C-Altmode, End Exit Control-R; C-G Recursive Edit Beep; Abort Recursive Edit Abort; C-Z explicitly undefined Standard Zwei
Standalone End, C-Altmode Quit Standard Zwei

Thus Control-R has four cells, Recursive Edit five, and Standalone two. A Patch Comment Editor and every standalone editor-frame mode table separately install Abort Standalone Abort; those one-cell overlays are listed with the task and special contexts below.

ZWEI minibuffer and pathname contexts

These are distinct from the mini-input editor table above. They are initialized by comtab.lisp.~589~; child tables inherit every cell not listed.

Multi-line and single-line minibuffers

Context Binding(s) Configured value
Multi-line Help Document Containing Command
Multi-line C-Return, End End Of Mini Buffer
Multi-line C-G; Abort Mini Buffer Beep; Recursive Edit Abort
Multi-line M-Y, C-M-Y Mini Buffer Or Yank Pop; Yank In Context
Multi-line M-Sh-Y, C-M-Sh-Y Mini Buffer Or Yank Pop Matching; Yank Matching In Context
Multi-line C-Z, M-Z, C-M-Z, M-; Explicitly undefined
Single-line overlay Return End Of Mini Buffer
Single-line overlay M-; Explicitly undefined

The multi-line table has 13 local cells and inherits standard Zwei. The single-line table has two local cells and inherits the multi-line table. Thus ordinary Return terminates single-line input, while multi-line input uses C-Return or End.

Pathname and FQUERY overlays

Context Binding(s) Configured value
Pathname reading Complete, Altmode Pathname Complete
Pathname reading C-Q Quoted Insert
Pathname reading End Pathname Complete And Exit If Unique
Pathname reading Help Document Pathname Read
FQUERY Help FQUERY Mini Buffer Document

Both overlay the single-line chain. A C-? pathname-completion-list form is commented out and is not configured in this revision.

Extended-search contexts

The hierarchy in search.lisp.~152~ composes an input table with a C-H operator prefix, then adds string-search options.

The inspected source file is 62,618 bytes with SHA-256 4b98387119a754d74f388a5b94e435b4f492a296859ad009984b2fae80c04279.

Extended-search operator prefix

Binding(s) Configured value
(; ) Extended Search Open; Extended Search Close
raw 0x1f, C-O Extended Search Or
raw 0x04, &, C-A Extended Search And
~, C-N Extended Search Not
Space; -; : Extended Search Whitespace; Delimiter; Symbol Delimiter
A; 9; *; C-X Extended Search Alphabetic; Digit; Some; Any
Help Document Containing Prefix Command

The raw code spellings are retained because they are not safely interchangeable with host-key names. Initialization also creates lowercase aliases and control-indirection aliases; those generated cells are not extra literal rows.

Search input and string-search overlays

Context Binding(s) Configured value
Extended-search minibuffer Help; C-H Document Extended Search; enter operator prefix
String-search operator overlay C-B, C-E Extended Search Beginning; End
String-search operator overlay C-F, C-R Extended Search Top Line; Reverse
Multi-line string search Altmode, End End Of Mini Buffer
Multi-line string search Help; C-H Document Extended Search; enter string-search operator overlay
Single-line string search Return End Of Mini Buffer

The extended-search minibuffer inherits single-line input. Multi-line string search instead inherits the multi-line minibuffer, leaving ordinary Return available for insertion; its single-line child adds the terminating Return.

Keyboard-macro mover

comg.lisp.~96~ creates a transient sparse table with one synthetic entry: the internal BLIPS:a/ sentinel exits Keyboard Macro Mover. It is not a physical key. Before use, the sparse table inherits the current active comtab, so a recorded mover retains the editing context in which its motion commands were entered. The source file is 17,848 bytes with SHA-256 66007d528c90407fb162df152e6dfc383282981c0162abd67ebd3c6702784043.

FEP Command Tab Indent Relative
Fundamental No local direct entry
TECO Tab Indent Nested; M-' Forward TECO Conditional; M-" Backward TECO Conditional
Macsyma Tab Indent Nested plus local delimiter syntax

The disabled Bolio form conflicts with its nearby command description, which still says Control-Meta digits and punctuation perform font changes. The code is the stronger assertion for this inspected revision; runtime verification is still a TODO.

Two other release-specific qualifications matter. The source defines a Scribe class and command, but maps :MSS files to Text and says that Scribe does not really exist yet. The manual describes Macsyma comments as /* ... */ with Tab running Indent Relative; the inspected source instead configures //* ... *// and Indent Nested. Both remain runtime TODOs rather than being resolved in favor of either text.

Task-mode bindings

The five task tables in this section plus the Word Abbrev Control-X mutations contain 94 constructor specifications, expanding ranges and aliases to 112 local cells: Edit Buffers 36, Dired 60, Edit Word Abbrevs 2, Mail 6, Patch Description 5, and Word Abbrev 3. Patch Comment Editor and the generic standalone editor-frame mode table each add one direct Abort overlay, bringing the broader task/special-context total to 96 specifications and 114 cells. Named commands without fixed keys are stated separately rather than counted as bindings.

Q, End; R; U; V; X Exit; Rename; Undelete; Show File; Extended Command
Rubout; Abort Reverse Undelete; Abort
Mouse-3-1 Mode-initialized Dired menu command

The source explicitly aliases the corresponding lowercase letters. Dired also registers Show File Properties as a local named command.

The cached Dired menu contains 14 actions: increasing and decreasing sorts by reference date, creation date, file name, size, and partition; Automatic; Automatic All; Change File Properties; and Describe Attribute List. Runtime Dynamic Windows contributions are not inferred from this fixed object.

Other task contexts

Context Direct local bindings

Patch Description C-Altmode or End finish; Abort, C-Z, C-] abort
Patch Comment Editor Abort Standalone Abort; otherwise inherits the global Standalone table
Standalone Editor Frame local Abort Standalone Abort; the frame composes this with its editor environment

Minor modes without large command maps

Mode Effective delta
Atom Word Redirect word syntax to Lisp atoms
Emacs C-^, Altmode, C-C become open Control/Meta/Control-Meta prefixes over the then-effective table; C-U uses the Emacs argument reader; C-I, C-H, C-] alias Tab, Backspace, Abort
Auto Fill Post-command hook fills at activation characters and persists the buffer's no-fill preference
Full Auto Fill Post-command hook refills the affected paragraph/line region
Overwrite Replace the standard insertion command with Self Overwrite
Word Abbrev Expansion hook plus the standard Control-X additions above
Electric Shift Lock Uppercase inserted letters outside strings/comments
Electric Character Style Lock Apply comment styling through command/comment-entry hooks
Auto Fill Lisp Comments Fill comments at a separate comment fill column without filling code

Open Emacs prefixes and mode precedence

The three Emacs prefix leaves are higher-order trees rather than finite child tables. They read the next input, synthesize Control, Meta, or Control-Meta on it, and resolve the resulting character through the then-effective active comtab. Help can enumerate that effective destination. Emacs C-U has its own reader: it accepts an optional minus and decimal digits; with no following numeric component it multiplies by four, then pushes back the first nonargument character.

All active modes mutate the same sparse mode and mode-Control-X tables. A newly enabled mode shadows older collisions. Disabling an older mode unwinds all newer modes, unwinds and removes the target, then replays the newer modes in order. User mode forms are appended after built-in forms and therefore win inside that mode. A complete effective dump MUST retain activation order and form provenance.

Effective lookup and failure tree

After Zmacs initialization, ordinary fixed-table lookup is:

raw editor character
└─ shared sparse mode table
   └─ Zmacs direct table
      └─ Standard Zwei direct table
         └─ unbound

C-X
└─ shared sparse mode C-X table
   └─ Zmacs C-X table
      └─ Standard C-X table
         └─ unbound

A NIL cell falls through to the parent. :UNDEFINED terminates lookup. A list cell is an alias, and alias resolution restarts at the original top comtab; therefore a top-level override can shadow the destination of an inherited alias. A symbol is a command. Both an exhausted lookup and :UNDEFINED clear pending input and report a not-defined key; a command symbol without a function binding produces the distinct not-implemented error.

Table installation processes specifications in order, so later cells win. It also creates lowercase-to-uppercase aliases and can append extended-command candidates. An unresolved named command is warned about and omitted. The 140 Standard plus 135 Zmacs source candidates are therefore not an installed-world count.

Help dispatcher tree

The editor's Help leaf enters another input tree:

Input Operation
A command Apropos
C Self Document, followed by an arbitrary key or prefix subtree
D Describe Command

any other key beep and ask again

Key documentation follows aliases and prefixes, accepts mouse characters, and has no timeout. * at a prefix enumerates all leaves. The stored prior Help request initializes to B, but B is absent from this revision's accepted dispatcher operations. Consequently fresh Help Space substitutes B, finds no dispatch function, and prints the dispatcher prompt again without an explicit beep. After a valid non-Space operation, Space repeats that persisted operation. C-X Help documents the active prefix; C-X Abort exits the prefix/no-ops and terminates keyboard-macro collection, while C-X C-G beeps and also terminates macro collection.

Pointer and Dynamic Windows presentation tree

The Dynamic Windows reimplementation specification is normatively incorporated for the complete 96 raw cells formed by 32 modifier states times three buttons, their aliases, physical-button rules and mutable gesture map. Its configured built-in handler catalog is also normative: the selected three modules define 54 handlers/66 emitted records, of which the ordinary Zmacs input context can inherit the bounded 47/59 subset. Seven Presentation Inspector translators require a compatible nested Command Processor context and are conditional child edges rather than ordinary Zmacs leaves. Zmacs then adds:

  • M-Mouse-Middle Editor Describe;
  • M-Mouse-Right Editor Presentation Menu;
  • the fixed Standard double-left Move Region and double-middle Kill/Yank cells; and
  • unmodified right button's 15-item Zmacs Editor menu listed above.

A presentation translator is eligible only when its required comtab is present in the active parent chain. A NIL gesture is menu-only. Type, tester, input context, priority and the current gesture map further gate selection. A generic compatible-comtab translator routes eligible pointer input through the same effective fixed lookup.

Clicking a different editor pane temporarily makes that pane and interval current for dispatch, except for the right-button menu path. A minibuffer can fall back to Standard so the surrounding application does not capture its mouse input. Blank-area, buffer-pointer, typed-expression and task-row presentations therefore have different trees even at identical coordinates and buttons.

Configured-source translator matrix

The inspected 54-module base contains exactly 64 presentation translators: 59 definitions made through the editor-command translator macro and five direct Dynamic Windows translators. For the 59 ETC rows, the target type is PRESENTATION-COMMAND; the wrapper adds the required-comtab ancestor test; and an omitted gesture is explicitly NIL, making the operation menu-only. A direct translator instead defaults an omitted gesture to :SELECT. Symbolic gesture names remain symbolic because the Dynamic Windows gesture map is mutable.

This is the complete configured-source matrix, not a claim about patches, omitted modules, site/user additions, or a live world's gesture-map values. The operation/effect descriptions are original analysis rather than copied source text.

Rows 15, 16, 45, 46, and 53 are the five direct translators. The other 59 are editor-command translator definitions.

Presentation actions outside the translator denominator

The same corpus has two presentation actions, for 66 total presentation-dispatch definitions. An action defaults to :SELECT, is forcibly noncomposing, performs its side effect, and returns NIL rather than a translated object.

Definition Source Input type Target Gesture Effect Gate
DISPLAY-REST-OF-HISTORY mini-buffer.lisp.~98~:408 DISPLAY-REST-OF-HISTORY SI:INPUT-EDITOR implicit :SELECT Continue minibuffer-history typeout no explicit tester
DISPLAY-REST-OF-CHANGE-HISTORY undo.lisp.~22~:1385 DISPLAY-REST-OF-CHANGE-HISTORY SI:INPUT-EDITOR implicit :SELECT Continue change-history typeout from stored state no explicit tester

The tracked List Buffers screenshots prove that the report and a generic Operation menu appeared. Their pointer documentation and menu entries do not prove a typed buffer-row presentation hit or identify an owning translator. This source matrix and the incorporated Dynamic Windows catalog supply the complete selected-source candidates, while exact-glyph runtime recognition, resident redefinitions, object-specific applicability, equal-score order, effective menu contents, and gesture-map values remain runtime oracles.

Known loaded-system and mutable overlays

The inspected source distribution includes overlays that are not part of the four base table constructors:

Overlay Fixed or named additions Runtime status
NSage Zmacs M-Sh-A Show Documentation Function, M-Sh-V Show Documentation Variable, M-Sh-F Show Documentation Flavor, named Format Buffer; Standard M-Sh-D Show Documentation plus seven named documentation/format operations; three presentation translators source present; loaded state unverified
Hardcopy named Hardcopy File and Region in Standard; Hardcopy Buffer in Zmacs source present; effective installation must be dumped
Flavor Update three named flavor syntax-update operations source present; effective installation must be dumped
Zmail named Show Mail and address presentation operations D08 dependency; loaded state must be dumped

Optional C, FORTRAN, Pascal, Joshua, Concordia, conversion, and version-control systems can add further mode, named-command or presentation layers. Users, patches and site initialization can install keys and keyboard or mouse macros. M-X traverses the effective extended-command parent chain; C-M-X can reach loaded global ZWEI commands. No base-constructor count closes those namespaces.

Source and runtime status

The binding facts come from the licensed source revisions and hashes recorded in the Zmacs article. The fresh 8.5 Xvfb session confirmed Select E, Help, Control-X 3, Control-X Control-B, and the presentation/mouse behavior described there. It did not execute every leaf, so this page distinguishes configured binding from runtime-confirmed effect.

The ignored reproducibility output contains a 43,174-byte JSON table (SHA-256 4e7454e68ee4a007e44829d6ebff73e942e627ac43cc8fad8b55b7fe9baa2b5e) and a 13,655-byte Markdown rendering (SHA-256 d711273780f3144d994b620313513c676be4626c0350d5a76c6c351c6d3df33e). They retain every literal row and source-line location from the four principal Standard/Zmacs direct and Control-X blocks; the JSON also retains the two named-command candidate arrays. They do not cover the subordinate, mode, and task tables added by the broader audit on this page. Neither artifact is tracked because it is mechanically derived from licensed source.

TODO: under the isolated licensed harness, enumerate pristine live comtab inheritance in Fundamental, Lisp, Text, every D05 recursive/input context, and representative D06 task contexts. Record every keyboard cell and sparse mouse cell, NIL/:UNDEFINED/alias/prefix/command state, recursively expand every prefix, and retain base versus patch/site/user overlays separately. Enumerate installed extended names and omissions. Then inject all 96 raw pointer characters over blank area, buffer pointer, expression, buffer row, and file-row fixtures, recording direct versus menu-only handler, translator, tester, priority, gesture-map revision, and Help/Where-Is result. Keep the complete generated dump only under ignored build/genera-computer-use/; publish counts, diffs, hashes, and original analysis.
